When you first discovered Dostoevsky you read him straight through, you needed a drink and a cigarette to return to the world. When you read D H Lawrence you alternated between the abyss and the ecstasy. You thought I have so much energy, positive and negative, so you took it out on the squash court, or in the water. You searched through Christianity, you then read about the genocides, the wars, the racism, the exploitation and realized the Truth is everywhere, but since you are merely a human creature, it will not be wholly revealed to you. So you went for dinner, had some wine, and reveled in what elevates the creature man to the divine--passion. You want to talk, you want to laugh, you want to cry, you want to walk slow, you want the romance that feeds the body and the mind. You're not looking for a family, you're not unsteady on your feet, you are your own validation. You can communicate with silence, you can communicate with a touch, you can cry out, because you can now let go of the defences. Time to make sense of everything with---me
